Meghan Markle has not stepped foot in the UK since 2022, with Prince Harry having only ever made solo trips back to his home country for the last four years. However, this could soon be set to change.
While unconfirmed by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, it is believed Meghan could fly across the pond with Harry, 41, this summer for a one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham. It is also rumoured that the couple could bring their children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
However, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has said that if Meghan does return, she will likely “be nervous”. This is because of ongoing problems she faces with her husband’s home country, which the couple left six years ago. Speaking to The Express, Mr Fitzwilliams said: “I think she will be nervous. The split in the royal family has not healed.
“Her poll ratings are around 20 per cent with c2/3 against which could not be much worse. The press detest her, which will cause problems.”
